Letter from the Principal

As an Ingraham graduate, I have many fond memories of my time as a student at Ingraham. The sporting events, clubs, activities and classroom experiences provided me with an education that I continue to appreciate. It wasn’t until many years after my graduation that I realized that I benefited as much from the extra curricular experience as I did from my time inside the classroom.

Since the 2003-2004 school year, I have had the honor of being the Principal of Ingraham High School. It has placed me in the unique position of experiencing the school not only through the eyes of an administrator, but through the eyes of a former student as well. I began to observe how all of the individual activities and programs fit together to build a strong community of students. This is a community that has a rich history of excellence…A community that embodies the spirit and idea of “Ram Pride”.

I often have alumni stop by to visit the school and share memories of their Ingraham experience. I hear stories of their favorite teachers, sports championships, best friends, lessons learned, and daily Ingraham life. I am often struck by the common theme that although their high school experience was short, it was the most important self defining time of their life. The visit often ends with a question asking how they can become reconnected with Ingraham High School. It is questions like this that prompted a group of Ingraham alumni and community members to start the Ingraham High School Foundation.

Founded in 2002, the Ingraham Foundation has helped reconnect alumni and raise funds to help Ingraham remain a school of distinction. The annual Foundation auction, for example, continues to provide needed funds for sports, activities, and curricular improvements. With your help, countless future students will learn the meaning and benefits of “Ram Pride”.
