CONGRESSMAN JAY INSLEE ‘69
Jay Inslee, Ingraham Class of 1969, is currently a member of the U. S. House of Representatives for the First Congressional District in Washington State. He has served in this role since 1999. He serves on the House Committee of Resources and the Committee on Energy and Commerce.
After graduating from Ingraham, Jay went on to get a degree in economics from the University of Washington and a law degree from Willamette University School of Law. He served in the Washington State Legislature and represented the Fourth Congressional District in the early 1990s. He has a distinguished record in public service for Washington State, representing citizens on both sides of the Cascade mountains.
Jay has very fond memories of Ingraham High School, including the fact that he met his wife of 29 years, Trudi Tindall Inslee, in his Spanish class! He also remembers his years on the athletic filed and basketball court where he helped lead the Rams to the State Basketball Championship during his senior year. Finally, Congressman Inslee remembers very well his excellent teachers, such as, Mr. Wendell McCain and Mr. Raymond Hailey. He says that both these teachers helped prepare him for his leadership role in Washington State politics for many years.

Greg Lewis
Greg Lewis, Ingraham Class of 1987, currently serves as Director of Alumni Relations for the U.W. Athletic Department. He is also involved in numerous community programs that help youth accomplish their goals, and has started his own inner city athletic and academic organization.
Greg flourished as a student and athlete at Ingraham High School because of all the support from his family, friends, and a few special teachers. While at Ingraham, Greg was a highly accomplished and honored three-year letterman in football and basketball and a two-year letterman in track. Greg also maintained over 3.3 grade average during high school.
After leaving Ingraham, Greg was awarded a full athletic scholarship to the University of Washington for football. Along with earning his degree in four years, Greg won many awards on the field of play as a Husky. He received top awards for his skills as a running back and student athlete, as well as Captain of the 1990 Pac-10 and Rose Bowl Championship Husky Football team. Greg went on to be drafted by the Denver Broncos of the NFL in 1991. In his first season as a Bronco Greg was named to the AFC ALL Rookie Team. Due to an unfortunate series of injuries to his knee Greg had to retire after only three seasons in the NFL.

David Horsey
Two-time Pulitzer Prize winner David Horsey, Ingraham Class of 1969, is an editorial cartoonist and columnist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. His work is syndicated to 250 newspapers across America and is very familiar to local newspaper readers.
Horsey received the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial cartooning, in 1999 and 2003, and was a Pulitzer finalist in 1987. Among his many other honors, he received the National Press Foundation's 1998 Berryman Award for Cartoonist of the Year.
In addition to being a graduate of Ingraham, David is also the son of Raymond Horsey, Ingraham High School's first band and orchestra director. He met his future wife, Nole Ann in Journalism class at Ingraham.
He received a BA in Communications from the University of Washington where he was editor of the student newspaper, The Daily. As a Rotary Foundation Scholar, Horsey earned an MA in International Relations from the University of Kent at Canterbury (U.K.). David is a member of the advisory board for the UW College of Arts and Sciences. The U.W.’s Columns magazine named him as one of the 100 most notable University of Washington alumni of the 20th Century. In 2000-2001, Horsey served as president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists. He has published six collections of his cartoons.
